Scope of duties

The three main activities are: tacking, welding and polishing milk coolers.

A milk cooler consists of an inner and outer tank. The tank consists of a cylinder (a type of pipe) and two bases. On the inner part of the cylinder, connecting it with the heat exchanger, various types of pipes must be welded, enabling the circulation of the refrigerant product.

• tacking: matching the bottoms in the cylindrical part (10% of the boilermaker’s working time), independent verification of specific dimensions of a given tank, adjustment of the steel sheet using a grinder, work based on a technical drawing

• TIG welding and assembly of various pipe elements on the outer part of the tank (manual welding of 1.5 mm thick elements with 0.6 mm thick sheet metal in different positions on curved surfaces)
• polishingwelds inside the tanks using an abrasive disc and independent checking of their roughness using a gauge

The work is organized rotationally for each of these activities.

The work is in a workshop, in difficult conditions (noise, dust, temperature).
